My Walk Away is an independent, veteran-built tool that helps service members estimate their total military compensation and identify potential civilian career paths. The Site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of Defense, any branch of the military, the VA, DFAS, or any other government agency.

The calculator produces estimates only. Results are based on 2026 publicly available DoD pay tables and national-average allowances. They do not account for:

• Special pays, bonuses, or incentive compensation specific to your situation
• Your actual duty-station BAH rate if not in our lookup table
• State and local taxes, which vary significantly by location
• Individual retirement benefits, TSP balances, or pension calculations
• Healthcare costs that differ from national averages
• Any changes to pay tables after the date of this publication

This is not financial advice. Do not use these results as the sole basis for accepting or rejecting a job offer, making investment decisions, or planning your retirement. Consult a licensed financial advisor, a military transition specialist, or a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) familiar with military compensation before making major financial decisions.

Pay tables are updated periodically but may lag behind official DoD publications. Always verify figures against the official DFAS pay tables at dfas.mil.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, My Walk Away and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or reliance on any information it provides — including but not limited to financial loss, missed opportunities, or employment decisions made based on calculator results.

You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute the Site's content without permission
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Site's operation
• Submit false or misleading information through any form on the Site

All original content on this Site — including the calculator logic, copy, branding, and logo design — is the property of My Walk Away. Pay table data is sourced from publicly available DoD and DFAS publications and is not claimed as proprietary.

Links to external sites (VA.gov, DFAS, USAJOBS, LinkedIn, and others) are provided for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability.

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction.
